Hi There!
I’m Michelle, a ranch wife, mom, and Basset breeder. I’m so glad you came to check out our website and admire our beautiful Bassets. If you told me back in 2017 that I would be breeding some of the finest Bassets around, I might have laughed at you, but that was the year lightning struck.
My husband and I are fourth-generation ranchers in Arizona. Fifteen years ago, just after we married, my Husband’s Walker Hound whelped a big litter of future lion hunters. We always had Walkers on the ranch to control predators. I loved them and loved raising a litter any time we needed a new hunter, but I wanted a dog that was a pet, not a working dog. Fast forward a few years, and that’s when Basset Hounds came into our lives.
Let the breeding begin
I got the basset bug really bad! I couldn’t get the idea of breeding out of my mind. I had experience rearing puppies and the space for more happy hounds. So I dug in and did a tremendous amount of homework on all things Basset and the breed standard. We are blessed to have several dog professionals as dear friends and family who have been involved with AKC judging, handling, and breeding and were willing to mentor me as I stepped into this new chapter.
Now Here We Are
I’m proud of what our family has built together and the dogs we raise. It’s a family affair all the way. The ranch is now home to Champion titled Basset Hounds, and I will be hitting the road later this year to show our beautiful prospect, Beau.
If someone had told the little girl Michelle, who used to watch Westminster and daydream about all those beautiful dogs, that I would live this life I dearly love, I know she wouldn't be surprised. Yet, as an adult, I pinch myself and thank God every day that I can bring this spectacular breed into the world and share it with families all over the country.
